The Selector Switch for Glock in gold finish combines the same precision-machined performance as our standard selector switch with a distinctive 24-karat gold PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating that sets your build apart from the crowd. This is the choice for the discriminating Glock owner who demands both technical excellence and visual distinction.
The gold PVD finish is applied through a vacuum deposition process that bonds elemental gold atoms directly to the aluminum substrate at a molecular level, creating a coating that is genuinely harder and more adherent than electroplated gold. Unlike electroplating, PVD-applied coatings do not exhibit the flaking, peeling, or thin-spot issues common in plated finishes. The resulting surface hardness is comparable to Type III anodize while providing the unmistakable luster of gold.
Functionally, the gold selector switch is identical to our black and stainless variants. The substrate is the same 7075-T6 aluminum billet, machined to the same dimensional tolerances on the same CNC equipment. The internal contact surfaces receive the same mirror polishing process. The PVD coating is applied after final machining to ensure dimensional accuracy is not compromised by the coating process.
The visual impact of the gold finish against Glock’s standard black Tenifer-coated frame and slide creates a high-contrast aesthetic that has become extremely popular among competitive shooters, custom build enthusiasts, and collectors. The gold finish is resistant to solvents, oils, cleaning agents, and the salt and acids naturally present in perspiration.
Compatibility mirrors our standard selector switch: Glock 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 26, 27, and related variants with standard double-stack frame geometry. Gen1 and single-stack models are not compatible.
